AmeriCold Logistics, the largest provider of temperature controlled warehousing and distribution services in the US, is seeking an Industrial Engineer to focus on facility automation design and integration. This position is based at our Corporate office in Atlanta, GA. (Dunwoody / Sandy Springs area) Primary Responsibility: Serve as a key team member in identifying areas of opportunity for automating existing Americold facilities as well as in the construction of facility additions and construction of new Greenfield facilities. Essential Functions: - Review business profiles of all facilities in order to identify opportunities for automation and labor cost savings.
- Identify opportunities to employ automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS), robots, and/or automated guided vehicles (AGV).
- Analyze large files of production related data and quantify this data into a form in which facility layouts and automation types will be based.
- Evaluate material handling methods for process improvements.
- Assist with improving productivity and reducing labor costs.
- Perform time studies as required.
- Assist with cost justification of equipment.
- Recommend staffing and resource requirements for new facilities.
- Provide recommendations on Storage Rack requirements.
- Determine special handling needs.
- Keep abreast of the latest technology in warehousing and evaluate for applications for AmeriCold.
- Demonstrate a team player approach to achieve departmental and company wide goals.
- Other duties as required.

Experience and Skills
|
|
Qualifications/Additional Skills: - Requires a Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering and 4-7 years of relevant work experience in production related automated processes.
- Experience with Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS), robots, and or automated guided vehicles (AGV).
- Strong knowledge, skills, and abilities to analyze large files of production related data. in order to reduce it down to a form on which facility designs and automation applications can be solidly based on.
- Solid decision making skills.
- Good verbal and written communication and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization and external contacts.
- Ability to excel in a team environment.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Strong computer skills required, including the Microsoft Office Suite, primarily expertise with Excel and Access. Knowledge and skills using Autocad drafting software.
- Must be able to travel approximately 25% to 50%.
